Control Description
Insert a new item Click, then select the type of attribute to insert.
Edit the selected item Click to edit the selected item.
Delete the selected item Click to delete the selected items.
Move the selected item up Click to move the selected item up in the custom order.
Move the selected item down Click to move the selected item down in the custom order.
Attribute Types
Type Description
Boolean A true or false value.
Date/Time A combined date and time value.
Group A container for other attribute definitions.
Image A raster image.
Integer A whole number value.
Real4 A real number value.
Real8 A high precision real number value.
Text A Unicode text string.
System Select a system attribute:
  • Name - A Unicode text string.
  • Description - A Unicode text string.
  • Image - A raster image.
List Columns
Column Description
Select Click to select an attribute definition. Use the Ctrl key to select multiple attribute definitions.
Double click to edit the attribute definition.
Click Select to select all attributes in the list.
Name Name of the Attribute.
Description Description of the attribute.
Notes
  • You can create one Name, Description and Image system attribute definition per layer.
  • Group attribute definitions are used to create a hierarchy of nested attribute definitions.
  • To manage attribute definitions of a group you must first select the group from the hierarchy.
  • The Order value controls the display order of attributes in the Attributes tool.
  • The Order value controls the order in which attributes are exported to other systems.
  • System attributes may be automatically created when an file is imported.
  • System attributes are used in reporting and allow you to edit the label given to the point name and description in the reports.
