The following appearance attributes can be updated:

| Spacing | Update the selected texts Line Spacing and Character Spacing with the spacing defined for the texts layer. |
| Width Factor | Update the selected texts Width Factor with the width factor defined for the texts layer. |
| Background | Update the selected texts Background, Background Colour, Background Height Factor and Background Width Factor with the background settings defined for the texts layer. |
| Orientate To Drawing | Update the selected texts Orientate To Drawing setting with the setting defined for the texts layer. |

| Colour | Update the selected polygons Fill Colour and Edge Colour to By Layer. |

| Colour | Update the selected tables text Colour, Border Colour and Fill Colour to By Layer. |
| Border | Update the selected tables Border and Border Weight, to By Layer. |
| Fill | Update the selected tables cell Fill to By Layer. |
- Select the checkbox to update the appearance attributes of selected objects using the current layer display settings when is clicked.
- Clear the checkbox to retain the current appearance property for the selected object.
- Click OK to save the update settings. The objects appearance attributes are not updated until is clicked.
- Objects with the By Layer setting selected for the appearance property will already have the layer display setting applied.
- Text that was created using a text style and has the Update Appearance checkbox selected in the Attributes tool window will continue to the use the text styles display properties.
- Tables that have the Update Appearance checkbox selected in the Attributes tool window will continue to the use the table styles display properties.
- All faces in a selected terrain model are updated.
- The blocks appearance properties will be updated to By Layer, however the colour, line style and weight is only used if the original objects in the block definition have their colour, linestyle or weight configured to By Block.
