Polygon by Existing PointsPolygon by Existing Points

Availability: Computations module.
Menu Selection: From the Computations task, select the Create/Polygon command and the Method/Existing Points command.
Functionality: existing points
Controls:
  • Description: Key in the desired polygon description for the next polygon to be created.
  • Increment polygon description: Specify that the Description field is to be automatically increased by a value of 1 after each polygon creation.
Only the last occurrence of a digit from 0 to 9 in the description will be incremented.
    e.g. LOT 9 increments to LOT 10
UNIT 3A increments to UNIT 4A
If the description field does not include a number, it will not be automatically altered.
Actions:
  • The OK Button adds the point(s) displayed in Point(s) field to the polygon currently being created. Alternatively, you may snap to and accept existing points to include them in the polygon.
  • The Back Button undoes selected points one at a time in the reverse order of their selection. Very useful if you select the wrong point.
  • The End Button Creates the polygon.
Note:
  • If the lines created through the point selection process do not form a closed polygon, then pressing the End button will not create the polygon. However the lines will still exist and the polygon could still be created later using the Element Selection method.
