Recovering Files

Allows the user to choose whether changes are to be recovered if LISCAD closes unexpectedly.

The "Configure/Optional Save" command needs to be selected from the Utilities task. It can only be accessed when a file is not open.

Clicking the "Optional Save" menu item will toggle it between active and inactive. A tick indicates that it is active.

If Optional Save is active, a copy of the file will be opened for editing rather than the original file.

If LISCAD closes unexpectedly whilst editing the copied file when Optional Save is active, the when LISCAD is restarted the next time, the user is informed that a recovery is possible and prompted to perform it.

If the user chooses to perform the recovery, the recovery file is copied in the configured Data folder as defined in the Configure Folders dialog with the suffix _recover and automatically opened with the option to do an integrity check on the file first.
