When data is imported into the system, the lookup table may be used to match feature codes in the incoming data set to feature codes in the selected code table. Refer to the Lookup Table topic for a more detailed description of the benefits and uses of lookup tables.
The Lookup table dialog box contains two columns of codes. The codes in the first column are feature codes to be used in the system and should exist in the Code Table that you intend using with this particular lookup table. The codes in the second column (i.e. foreign) are codes used by a third party and exist in a data file which is to be imported into the system.
For each line in the lookup table the foreign code is matched to the Local code during the importing operation.
