(This functionality is available with the Transformations module)
The Co-ordinates / Define Transformation command is used to display the Transformation Editor. This editor may be used to define a transformation by selecting co-ordinates in two differing systems.
Refer to the following Transformations Editor menus for details about the various commands available:
Once a transformation has been successfully computed using the above Compute menu, it becomes the defined transformation to be used with the following Transformation task menu commands.
The defined transformation remains current until the system is closed down. Hence a defined transformation may be used with different data bases for the duration of the session or until another transformation is computed.
The points and co-ordinates used to define the transformation may be saved as a disk file and retrieved via the Transformations Editor File Menu. In this manner, a transformation can be saved for later use. After opening an existing transformation file, it is necessary to use the appropriate Compute command to generate a defined projection.
