Creates a new point and inserts it into a long section at the intersection of two grades from specific chainage and elevation positions.
The Create Point by Grade Intersection command is available after selecting Edit/Create Point when in a long section view.
The point to be created will be given the attributes currently defined via the Edit/Set Point Attributes command.

Item | Used to |
Long Section: | Select a long section from the list into which the point is to be inserted. All long sections that are open in the current long section view are listed here. |
Chainage or Distance: | Select a point in the long section view or enter a chainage from which the corresponding entered grade will be projected. Note that the Elevation field will also be updated when selecting an existing point. The name of this field is dependent on what has been set as the Data Input By type in the Configure/Alignment dialog. |
Elevation: | Select a point in the long section view or enter an elevation from which the corresponding entered grade will be projected. Note that the Chainage/Distance field will also be updated when selecting an existing point. |
Grade: | Key in the two grades from the defined chainage and elevation positions, along which the point is to be placed. Alternatively, select any two points in the long section view to define each grade. Note that the sign convention when grades are applied in this dialog is positive up hill (negative downhill) in the direction of chainage. The grade can be set in either percentage (%) or ratio (1: ), this depends on what has been set in the Configure/Units dialog. |
OK: | Create the point at the intersection of the grades. The point will be created with the attributes currently set in the Attributes/Point command. |
Cancel: | Close the dialog box without applying the current settings. |
