(This functionality is available with the Profiles and Design module)
Allows creation of a best fit long section consisting of a straight line, an arc or a parabola.
The Long Sections/Create Best Fit Long Section command is accessed from the Profiles task in the long section view.
Create Best Fit Long Section dialog box
Item | Used to |
Best Fit | Select Line, Arc or Parabola as the desired type of best fit long section. |
Radius | Enter the required radius for a best fit arc long section. Enter 0 to allow the best bit radius to be calculated. Only available if the Arc radio button is selected. |
Existing Long Section | Select a long section from the list of long sections in the current long section view. This is the long section that the new long section is to best fit. |
Start Chainage / Distance: | Enter the chainage or distance of the start of the new best fit long section, depending upon how the Alignment Configuration is set. |
End Chainage / Distance: | Enter the chainage or distance of the end of the new best fit long section, depending upon how the Alignment Configuration is set. |
New Long Section Name | Enter the desired name of the new long section. |
Open Long Section In: | Select the long section view that the new long section will be opened in. |
Colour: | Select and display the colour of the new long section. |
Line Style: | Select and display the line style of the new long section. |
Editing Behaviour | |
Delete All | This profiles will be deleted if the Control Line beneath it changes position. |
Delete Affected | Points in this profiles will be deleted if the Control Line changes position beneath them. |
Scale Affected | Points in this profiles will retain their relative position along the Control Line. |
Retain Affected | Points in this profiles will maintain there distance along the Control Line. Note that if the length of the control line changes their position on the line will change. |
OK | Create the best fit long section. |
Close | Close the dialog box. |
