Cross Section Point by Surface IntersectionCreate Point by Intersection

(This functionality is available with the Profiles and Design module)

Creates a new point and inserts it at the intersection of the surface of one selected cross section and a line segment of another selected cross section.

The Create Point by Intersection command is available after selecting Edit/Create Point when in a cross section view.

NOTE: This command is only available when more that one cross section is open in the cross section view.

The point to be created will be given the attributes currently defined via the Edit/Set Point Attributes command.

When the Edit/Create Point/Intersection command is selected from the Profiles task, the surface curser appears. Use the surface curser to snap to a cross section. The selected surface will be highlighted. Press the left mouse button to accept.

The line segment curser will then appear. Use the line segment curser to snap to a line segment of another cross section. The selected line segment will be highlighted. Press the left mouse button to accept.

A point will then be created at the intersection of the selected surface and line segment.

To end, press Esc or select another command.
