Exporting Data to Another System

This procedure is used to export data to a file that can be used to import data to another software system. Refer also to the Tables topic in the Concepts section of the help.   1. Ensure that the required data base is open.
    Refer to the procedure for opening a data base.
  2. If the codes used in the data base are not suitable for use in the export file to be created, ensure that there is an existing lookup table which matches the codes used in the data base to the codes required.
    Refer to the procedures for editing a lookup table.
  3. Select the Data Conversions task.
  4. Select the Export menu to display the export you require. If the export format you require is not on the menu select Add / Remove from the bottom of the menu to add your required export format to the Export menu.
  5. The dialog displayed next will depend upon the particular export selected and the choices you are able to make. Make your choices and press OK.
