The rounding or number of places to which bearings are displayed and output, provided the Display Features Rounding option is set to on. If this is set to off then the angles will be displayed according to the precision set in Configure/Angles command. Note also, that all polygon angles will be displayed according to the precision and not according to the rounding type.
Three angle rounding types may be defined. Any of these rounding types may be assigned to particular bearings thereby enabling different bearings to be displayed at different roundings. For each angle rounding type, you may define four rounding values governed by the length of the line.
When angle rounding is applied to polygon internal angles it is based upon the shorter of the two lines that define the angle.
The angle rounding types are set using the Configure/Angles command located in the Utilities task.
- Example
- If the Configure/Units command has been used to select sexagesimal angle units,
- and
- the Configure/Angles command has been used to define rounding type 1 as:
-
- Leading Zeroes to be displayed
distances less than | round to | zero minutes | zero seconds |
30 | 1' | Yes | No |
200 | 20" | Yes | No |
1000 | 5" | Yes | No |
default | 1" | Yes | No |
then bearings defined as rounding type 1 would display as follows:
Angle | Length | Display | ||
23° 02' 05" | 25 | 23° 02' | ||
42° 00' 00" | 190 | 42° 00' | ||
42° 12' 14" | 190 | 42° 12' 20"
42° 12' 14" | 990 | 42° 12' 15"
42° 12' 14" | 2000 | 42° 12' 14" |
