(This functionality is available with the Modelling
module)
Validates the currently open data base.
The Modelling/Validation command is selected from the Terrain Modelling task.
Terrain Model Validation dialog box
Item | Used to |
Region Size: | Select a region size which will be used in the validation process to index the data into a number of regions. |
Points with Duplicate XY Co-ordinates | Select whether the data set is to be validated for this condition. If there are points in the data base with the same position, when it is modelled, one of the points is disregarded and the resulting model may therefore be erroneous. |
Breaklines Crossing | Select whether the data set is to be validated for crossing breaklines. If there are crossing break lines in the data base when it is modelled, the last break line is used and previous crossing break lines are ignored. The resulting model may therefore be erroneous. |
Closed Boundary | Select whether the data set is to be validated for closing model
boundary lines. Any unclosed boundary lines in the data base when it is modelled will be treated only as break lines and not used to form a boundary for the triangulation. The resulting model may therefore be erroneous. |
OK | Carry out the Validation process and report any error conditions found. |
CANCEL | Close the dialog box without validating the data set. |
Select all the validation options to ensure that all errors are identified.
After the validation is completed, and if errors exist, the Validation Report dialog box enables you to view or print the errors by clicking the appropriate buttons. These errors should then be rectified using the appropriate menu commands in the Computations Task.
Note that you may use the Form Model command without having validated the data base or corrected any errors but the model formed may then be incorrect.
