Mapping Blocks and Cells to Symbols

This option is available in the AutoCAD or DGN Conversion Settings dialog box and allows you to map AutoCAD blocks and MicroStation cells to symbols when importing and exporting.

Export to AutoCAD

If Create Blocks from Symbols is selected, blocks are created in the AutoCAD file. Select from the Symbol Lookup Table list the option to use an existing symbol lookup table, create a symbol lookup table, or use no symbol lookup table. If this option is not selected, symbols are exported as exploded objects.

Import from AutoCAD

If Match Blocks to Symbols is checked, blocks are matched to related symbols. Select from the Symbol Lookup Table list the option to use an existing symbol lookup table, create a symbol lookup table, or use no symbol lookup table. Any symbol names that are not found are ignored. If this option is not selected, the blocks are exploded when imported.
