CAD drawings can be exported as AutoCAD, MicroStation and Drawing Web Format files.
AutoCAD and MicroStation files can be exported using a Conversion File.
To export a file.
- Select either File/Export or the Export button from the toolbar.
- In the Export File dialog box select the folder to where the file is to be exported to.
- Select the type of file to be exported i.e. AutoCAD, MicroStation or Drawing Web Format from the Files of type list.
- Enter the name of the file in the File name box.
- When exporting an AutoCAD or DGN file, select from the
Conversion list a conversion
file to be used when exporting or select None from the list if no
conversion file is to be used.
If you wish to edit an existing conversion file or create a new one, select Configure.
NOTE: A conversion file is not applicable for exporting a Drawing Web Format (DWF) file. It is therefore not available when this export format is selected. - Save to export the file and close the dialog box. Alternatively, select Close to shut down the dialog box without importing a file.
Tip:
- AutoCAD does not recognise spaces between characters in internal definitions. Eg. Layer names. During the export to AutoCAD a space is replaced by an underscore.

- LISCAD CAD line weight is given the nearest AutoCAD equivalent line
weight.
E.g. Line weight in LISCAD CAD - 0.46mm converts to an AutoCAD line weight of 0.50mm.
The list of line weights in AutoCAD is viewed from Format\Lineweight menu option. Range is 0mm to 2.11mm -
Images in LISCAD are exported to AutoCAD and MicroStation and the related image files are created in the same directory as the exported file. The image files are exported in their original raw format and you must ensure this format is supported by AutoCAD and MicroStation.
