You can explode the following objects:

| Symbol | Explode selected symbols into straights, circular arcs and splines. |
| Block | Explode blocks into original components. Note:

| Leader | Unlink a leader from text or explode a leader into lines or polygons. Note:

- Exploded line, symbol, leader and rectangle segments are placed on the objects original layer.
- Exploded blocks are placed on the block objects original layers.
- When blocks created from model view objects are exploded, objects are converted to a corresponding drawing view object.
- Points with symbols are converted to CAD symbols and are displayed when the layer specifies a point symbol.
- Points without symbols at the time of explosion are discarded.
- Lines are converted to 2 dimensional line segments.
- Three dimensional arcs in a horizontal plane are converted to two dimensional arcs.
- Three dimensional arcs in an inclined plane are converted to splines.
- Shapes are discarded.
- For lines whose thickness is defined by width rather than weight, the weight is set to 0.
- If a point symbol is exploded into lines, the line colour retains the colour of the exploded symbol.
- If leaders are exploded into lines and polygons, the lines and polygons appearance retain the appearance of the exploded leader.
