Line Object Segment Report

Description

Report on the bearing and distance of the segments in a line, alignment, polygon, shape(pipe).

Access

Report / Create / Custom / Linear Object Bearing and Distance Report

Requirements

One or more selected lines, alignments, shapes(pipes) or polygons.

Object
Object Property Description
Type The object type
Unique Id The unique identifier of the linear object.
Layer The objects layer.
Total 2D Length The total 2 dimensional length of all the segments.
Total 3d Length The total 3 dimensional length of all the segments.

List Columns Description
Segment Number The segment identifier.
Segment Type The type of segment.
From / To Point Name The name of a point that shares a vertex with the line or polygon object.
From / To Vertex The unique id of the segments start or end vertex.
Bearing The bearing of straight or chord.
2D Distance The 2 dimensional length of the linear object.
3D Distance The 3 dimensional length of the linear object.
2D Chord Distance The 2 dimensional distance between the start and end vertex of a circular curve.
3D Chord Distance The 3 dimensional distance between the start and end vertex of a circular curve.
Radius The radius of the circular curve.
From / To Easting Easting coordinate of the segments start or end vertex.
From / To Northing Northing coordinate of the segments start or end vertex.
From / To Height Orthometric height of the segments start or end vertex.
Notes
  • The report is generated on the lines, alignments, shapes (pipes) or polygons in the current selection.
  • The report displays in a report tab in the work area.
  • To save the report, click the report tab to make it the active view, then click Save as.
  • Click the column header in the report to order the objects by the column values.
  • Click Add/Remove to add the report to the Custom menu.
  • For 2D circular curves the 2D length is the arc distance. The 3D length is the length of the spline that best approximates the curve and the vertices heights in 3 dimensions.
  • For 3D circular curves the 3D length is the arc distance.
  • Name the local rotation with the rotation value to view the local rotation value in the General section.
  • Name the local scale with the scale value to view the local scale value in the General section.
