Description |
Recover files and data following a system failure.
|
Steps |
-
Run the application and select / Open and open the file that you had open at the time of the system failure.
A message box displays advising that the file "closed unexpectedly".
-
Do one of the following:
- Click Yes to attempt to recover the changes
- Click No to open the previous saved version of the file.
|
Notes |
-
This auto recover feature is not a substitute for manually saving your work with the
/ Save command.
Regularly saving the file is the surest way to preserve the work that you have done.
- Ensure the file is reopened by the same name on the same computer as when the system failed. The application may reopen automatically.
- Open the same version of the application as you were running when the system failed.
- The integrity check on the recovered file must succeed for the file recovery to be successful.
- If the recovery fails the previously saved version of the project will be opened.
- If the integrity check finds issues with the data, two files are created in the same location:
- "FileName_recovered.nrf" is the recovered file but file but is corrupted. In some cases manual repair of the file may be possible by LISTECH support.
- "FileName_recovered_IntegrityCheck.log" is the resulting text file report from the integrity check.
