Options

The following properties allow control of the export.

General Description
Content If there are objects selected then only selected objects are exported.
  • Displayed - If no objects are selected then only visible objects are exported.
  • All - If no objects are selected then all objects are exported regardless of whether they are visible.
Open Exported File Select the box to automatically open the file when the export is complete.
Export Attributes as Typed Data Do one of the following:
  • Select the checkbox to export attributes using the type defined in the attribute definition.
  • Clear the checkbox to export the attributes as strings.
Transformation To apply a transformation to the exported objects coordinates, select a transformation from the list.
Image Width Type the width in pixels to control the size of the exported image.
Grid Coordinates Select the box to export northing and easting attributes.
Geographic Coordinates Select the box to export the latitude and longitude attributes.
Orthometric Height Select the box to export the elevation as an attribute.
Ellipsoidal Height Select the box to export the ellipsoid height as an attribute.
Company Logo To export a company logo to be displayed with the geographic data:
  • Click to the right of the property box to display the Images dialog.
  • Click the company logo to be displayed.
  • Click OK.
Logo Position Select the location of the company logo as you would like it to appear in the application to which the file is imported.
Lookup Tables Description
Layer Select the layer lookup table to be used during the export.
Possible errors
Error or Warning Message Description
Attribute definition name 'Attribute name' on layer 'Layer name' is not unique. The layer definition contains multiple attributes with the same name but different type. Attribute names must be unique for this export format.
Group attributes have not been exported. Groups are not supported with this export format. Any attributes in groups have not been exported. You can use a query to copy the value of the group attribute into an attribute that is not part of a group.
Multiple instances of Point Point id attribute Attribute name have been found.The first attribute Attribute name has been exported. You have added multiple instances of an attribute to an object. The first instance of the attribute has been exported.
Notes
  • Points, lines, polygons, shapes, texts, and attributes are exported. Images that are attributes of the selected objects are exported.
  • If Open Exported File is selected the file will attempt to be opened using the application registered with the operating system as the default for that file type.
  • An image size can be enlarged but not reduced.
  • When selecting the location of the company logo consider where other logos and controls are in the application.
  • Ellipsoid Height is available when a geoid model is specified.
  • A 'Plane' coordinate system is not suitable when exporting data to a KML/KMZ file.
  • You can use this format to export data to Google Earth and Google Maps.
  • Alignments and transition curves are exported as straight line segments.
  • If an object has multiple instances of an attribute with the same name and the same type, only the first attribute is exported. Clear the Allow multiple checkbox for every attribute definition to ensure only a single instance of an attribute is inserted for each object.
