A number of flags are held against each point to indicate its status and to allow the resolving of duplicates. An understanding of these flags is of great benefit when using the Resolve Duplicates command.

The user can identify whether a point is the Main Point, whether it is a Resolved average of duplicate points (Resolved Point), and if so, which duplicate points have been used in the averaging process for both position and elevation.
The status of a point can be determined by using the Examine Point command.
