Line Comparison by Line

Produces a positional comparison report between lines in the same or different projects.

This feature is particularly useful for locating lines that are closer to each other a specified minimum offset or end distance. The operation is also group sensitive and block sensitive. To ensure that only required lines are compared, only display the relevent groups.

The "Report/Line Comparison by Line" command is selected from the Plan View Utilities task.

Search Criteria
Offset Search	Specify that lines are to be reported if closer to each other than a specified horizontal offset.
Offset	Enter the horizontal offset tolerence below which lines will be reported. This field will only be available if the Offset Search check box is selected
Distance Search	Specify that lines are to be reported if their ends are closer to each other than a specified horizontal distance.
Distance	Enter the horizontal distance tolerence below which lines will be reported. This field will only be available if the Distance Search check box is selected
Ignore lines of the same code	Specify that lines of the same code are not to be compared to each other.
Ignore lines of the same group	Specify that lines of the same group are not to be compared to each other.
Include In Report
Group	Specify that the Group name of each reported line is included in the report.
Code	Specify that the Code of each reported line is included in the report.
Description	Specify that the Description of each reported line is included in the report.
Comma Delimited	Select that the reported data be comma delimited suitable for opening in spreadsheets.
Use Comparison File	Specify whether a comparison file is to be used. If active, for any line selected in the current file, the lines selected for comparison will be from the comparison file specified. If not active, for any line selected in the current file, the lines selected for comparison will be from the currently open file.
Folder	Display the folder of the comparison file.
File name	Select the comparison file.
Browse	Display the Browse dialog box for selecting the comparison file.
OK	Perform the comparison operation and produce the comparison report. The operation may take a considerable period of time to complete, particularly for large data sets.
Cancel	Close the dialog box.
