Allows the user to apply a zoom to the camera in the 3D scene.
Zooming the camera is like applying a zoom lens to the camera. It allows the user to see things more closely, but conversely the camera sees less of the scene.
To use the Zoom Camera, select the tool by clicking it with the accept mouse button.
Hold the left mouse button down and slowly move the cursor over the scene. Moving the cursor upwards on the screen will zoom the camera towards the target. Moving the cursor downwards on the screen will zoom the camera away from the target.
If your mouse has a mouse wheel, the zoom camera can also be operated using this. To zoom in, position the cursor on the area you wish to zoom in on and roll the mouse wheel forward. Conversely, to zoom out, roll the mouse wheel backwards.
Holding the SHIFT key down at the same time will cause the effect of the camera's position standing still, but the camera's target will change with the mouse cursor, so as to seem to be looking around the scene.
Unlike the Orbit camera, which rotates the camera about the camera target and changes the camera position, the Pan Camera rotates the camera about the camera position and changes the camera target.
The Zoom Camera will not alter the camera target nor position. Rather it alters the camera's field of view.
Control will stay in the Zoom Camera allowing you to progressively Zoom further around the scene.
Clicking the snap mouse button will show the Display menu. The Zoom Camera may also be exited by selecting any other tool or command.
