SetupSetup Target (Known Backsight)

(This functionality is available with the Survey Live module)

Used to enter the total station backsight details for the "Known Backsight" setup technique.

The Setup Target (Known Backsight) page is accessed from the Setup activity.

Survey Live/Setup/Target (Known Backsight) page

Item Used to
Backsight ID: Select the Backsight point.
Note: You may key in or graphically select an existing point from the currently open SEE project plan window, or select from the list of points in the control file (if a control file is selected). If you key in a Point ID, the system will look first in the control file and then in the open project for the point.
Target Ht: Enter the target's height above the point.
Target Button: Show the currently selected target and select the Configure Targets page.
Average Station Elevation Change the elevation of the current Station ID to the average between its current value and its value computed using the observation to the Backsight ID.
Hence: If this check box is selected, then after pressing "Dist" followed by "Set", the station elevation will be altered to the average as described, and thus changed by negative half of the displayed "Diff Elevation" (see below).
Hz: Display the observed horizontal circle reading.
Comp Brg: Display the computed bearing from the station point to the backsight point.
Comp Hz Dist: Display the computed horizontal distance from the station point to the backsight point.
Note: Available for "Known Backsight" setup techniques.
Diff Hz Dist: Display the difference between the computed and observed horizontal distances to the backsight point.
Diff Elevation: Display the difference between the backsight point elevation and the elevation computed from the observation (corrected for instrument height and target height).
