Examine Distance Elevation and GradeExamine Distance, Elevation and Grade

Examines the distance, elevation and grade between any two points in a long section view.

When the Examine/Distance, Elevation and Grade command is selected from the Profiles task, the examine curser appears with the Examine Distance, Elevation and Grade dialog box indicating that the command is active.

Item Used to
Point 1 and Point 2 Distance: Display or enter the distance of the Point.
Elevation: Display or enter the elevation of the Point.
Use the examine curser to snap to any existing point. Its distance and elevation will be displayed in the Distance and Elevation fields. Alternatively enter values in the Distance and Elevation fields to define the Point.
Note: If the focus of the dialog is in the Distance field when snapping to an existing point then the Elevation field will also be updated.
Horizontal Distance: Display the horizontal distance between Point 1 and Point 2.
Slope Distance: Display the slope distance between Point 1 and Point 2.
Elevation Difference: Display the difference in elevation between Point 1 and Point 2.
Grade: Display the grade between Point 1 and Point 2.
OK: Apply the examine function to the keyed in information for Point 1 and Point 2.
Cancel: Close the dialog box without applying the current settings.
