Cross Section IntersectionsApply Section Intersections

(This functionality is available with the Profiles and Design module)

Inserts points at the intersection of the cross sections and the lines created as defined by the rules set in the Define End Areas dialog box at every section marker where both cross section surfaces exist. If the intersection points extend outside the section then a line segment will be created to join the end point of the surface to the intersection point.

The Volumes/Apply Section Intersections command is selected from the Profiles task in the cross section view and is only be enabled if the user has successfully defined a two section end areas.

This command displays the Apply Section Intersections dialog box.

Item Used to
Insert Intersection points into:
From Surface: Insert intersection points into the "From Surface" as defined in the Define End Areas dialog box.
To Surface: Insert intersection points into the "To Surface" as defined in the Define End Areas dialog box.
Start Chainage/Distance: Display and select the chainage of the first end area to apply the section intersections. This fields will be titled either Chainage or Distance depending upon the configuration set in the Configure/Alignment dialog.
End Chainage/Distance: Display and select the chainage of the first last area to apply the section intersections. These fields will be titled either Chainage or Distance depending upon the configuration set in the Configure/Alignment dialog.
OK: Insert points at the intersections and closes the dialog.
Cancel: Close the dialog without applying the changes.
