Geometry Settings (Cross Section CAD Output)

(This functionality is available with the Profiles and Design module)

Controls the output of the geometry lines and labelling that is output to a CAD system.

The Geometry Settings dialog is displayed by selecting the Settings button from the Geometry group in the Line layout dialog.

Item Used to
Lines
Layer: Set the CAD layer (Applies to LISCAD CAD or AutoCAD).
The layer name can be any integer number from 1 to 32000 for LISCAD CAD and up to 32 character alpha numeric name for AutoCAD.
Level: Set the CAD level (Applies to MicroStation).
The level may be any integer from 0 to 63 for V7, or up to 32 alpha numeric characters for V8.
Colour: List the 256 colours that are available for selection to be used for line attributes that are output to a CAD system.
Weight: Set the weight of the line that is output to a CAD system. For LISCAD CAD, the weight entered is the thickness of the line when plotted at the scale of the plan to be created. The value entered for weight depends on the Utilities/Configure/Units linear settings. For metres enter the weight in mm, otherwise enter the weight in inches.
For MicroStation V7, select a value from 0 to 15. For MicroStation V8, select a value 0 to 31 or select ByLevel. Please refer to the MicroStation documentation.
Line Style: Open the Line Style Library dialog.

Height: Set the height on a plan of the label text that is output to a CAD system. The units will be in millimetres or inches on the plan depending on the units set in the Utilities/Configure/Units command.
Width: Set the width on the plan of the label text that is output to a CAD system. The units will be in millimetres or inches on the plan depending on the units set in the Utilities/Configure/Units command.
Colour: List the 256 colours that are available for selection to be used for labels that are output to a CAD system.
Font: Set the text font of the label. The font is selected from a list box for LISCAD CAD. For MicroStation V7, key in a legal font number. For MicroStation V8, key in a legal alphanumeric font name. For AutoCAD key in a legal alpha numeric font name. Refer to the Font topic for further information.
Slant: Set the slant of the label text that is output to a CAD system. The slant is in decimal degrees measured clockwise from the vertical.
Weight: Set the line weight of the label text that is output to a CAD system. For LISCAD CAD, the weight entered is the thickness of the line when plotted at the scale of the plan to be created. The value entered for weight depends on the Utilities/Configure/Units linear settings. For metres enter the weight in mm, otherwise enter the weight in inches.

Proportional: Select whether the font used is to be proportional or non-proportional. The effect of a non-proportional font is to evenly space the characters and numbers.
Symbols
Start: Display the symbol that is placed at the start of a line type.
Symbol: Open the Symbol Library dialog.
End: Display the symbol that is placed at the end of a line type.
Symbol: Open the Symbol Library dialog.

Start Direction: Key in the direction of the Start symbol in decimal degrees, mathematical convention.
For example a direction of 45° will cause the symbol to be rotated anticlockwise by 45° from the direction shown in the symbol library.
End Direction: Key in the direction of the End symbol in decimal degrees, mathematical convention.
For example a direction of 45° will cause the symbol to be rotated anticlockwise by 45° from the direction shown in the symbol library.
Tangent Labels: Toggle the option to output tangent labels to a CAD system.
OK: Close the dialog and save the current settings.
Cancel: Close the dialog without applying the changes.
