(This functionality is available with the Profiles and Design module)
Creates a corridor of interest by defining the corridor of interest in a table. This type of corridor of interest is created in the shape of a polygon that begins and ends at chainages of the primary alignment that are defined in the table, with sides that are defined by offsets from the alignment.
To obtain this option, select the Create/Corridor of Interest command and the Method/Table command from the Profiles task to display the relevant dialog box.

Item | Used to |
Alignment: | Select the primary alignment for which the corridor of interest is to be created. |
Chainage or Distance: | Enter the location, or display the location that you have selected by clicking on the display
area with the mouse. The name of this field is dependent on what has been set as the Data Input
By type in the Configure/Alignment dialog. NOTE: Clicking anywhere on the display area will display a chainage or distance. This location will be along the primary alignment at a point represented by the end of an imaginary line that is drawn from the mouse position to the nearest line segment of the primary alignment, perpendicular to that segment. |
Offset 1: and Offset 2: | Enter an offset, or display the offset that you have selected by clicking on the display area
with the mouse. Negative (-ve) to the left of the alignment and positive (+ve) to the right of
the alignment. NOTE: Clicking anywhere on the display area will display an offset. This offset will be the offset from the primary alignment, represented by the length of an imaginary line that is drawn from the mouse position to the nearest line segment of the primary alignment, perpendicular to that segment. |
Add: | Add the information displayed in the Chainage/Distance:, Offset 1, and Offset 2 fields to the table. |
Delete: | Delete the highlighted chainages and offsets in the table. This button is only available if information in the table has been highlighted. |
Apply: | Create the corridor of interest from the information displayed in the table. NOTE: If a corridor of interest already exists for the selected primary alignment, a dialog will appear. This gives the option to delete the existing corridor of interest for the primary alignment and proceed with the creation or return to the corridor of interest by freehand dialog to make another selection. |
Close: | Close the dialog box and cancel the function. |
