The exaggeration attribute may be used to exaggerate or multiply the length of certain types of Line objects when they are passed to a CAD file. Note that exaggeration factor may only be used with Radiation or Offset objects. The default exaggeration factor is 1. Any other value for the exaggeration factor will result in a lengthened Radiation or Offset in the CAD file. This attribute is useful for production of field notes where clarity is important and scale not required.
Below is a sample of a CAD drawing created without using exaggeration factor. Note that it is at the required scale but there is not sufficient room to place a bearing and distance on the radiation between the survey mark and the post. This is a typical situation when exaggeration is not used.
If however, an exaggeration factor of 2 is applied to the radiation, and the CAD file created again, the post is moved twice as far from the survey mark allowing enough room to show a bearing and distance. Note that the post and fence lines are now not shown in their true scale position.
