(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)
Transfers data in co-ordinate form from the currently open data base to the electronic data recorder selected.
Data Recorder Output dialog box
Item | Used to |
From Point ID: | Key in the starting point identifier of the range of points to be transferred. |
To Point ID: | Key in the ending point identifier of the range of points to be transferred. |
Offsets | |
Numeric: | Key in a point identifier offset to be added to the numeric part
of the point identifiers that are being transferred. Use a negative number to have it subtracted. |
East: | Key in a value to be added to the East co-ordinates of the points
that are transferred. Use a negative value to have it subtracted. |
North: | Key in a value to be added to the North co-ordinates of the points
that are transferred. Use a negative value to have it subtracted. |
Upload file as | Enter the name to be given to the uploaded file on the data recorder. Only available for certain recorders. Note that naming rules apply for some instruments. Refer to the help topic for your particular instrument to check for upload naming rules. |
Scale Factor | Enter a scale factor to be applied to the co-ordinates being uploaded.
(Only available when distances are set as ground distances in the
Utilities/Configure/Units
dialog) Important note: Ground co-ordinates are fictitious as they are the co-ordinates with the scale factor applied from a zero origin and will generally be dramatically different from the grid co-ordinates. This has been intentionally done to minimise the possibility of mixing ground and grid distances. If the instrument supports local scale factor use this feature and output the co-ordinates in grid. |
Transfer Codes | Set if the codes of the points are to be transferred. This option is available only if a Leica TPS-1000 series or Leica TPS-1100 series instrument is selected. The code is recorded as a '71...' remark word. |
Transfer elevations | Set whether the elevations of the points are to be transferred. |
Auto Numbering | If there are alpha numeric point identifiers selected for transfer
to the data recorder, and the data recorder does not support alpha numeric
point identifiers, select this check box to have automatically generated
point numbers transferred to the data recorder instead of the point
identifiers. It is best not to use alpha characters in the point identifiers if your data recorder does not support alpha, as auto generated numbers do not relate to the point identifiers thereby making it difficult to identify points in the data recorder. |
Upper Case Only | If set, Point Identifiers will be converted to upper-case characters. |
Extended Format | Specify that the Leica/Wild format required is the extended 16 character format. |
Block Message | Indicate whether a block is currently active. If a block is active only those points defined by the block and specified by the point range may be transferred. Refer to the Block command for further information about defining and using blocks. |
Close | Close the dialog box without transferring the data. |
OK | Put the system in a ready state to send the data to the data recorder. You should ensure that the data recorder has the correct communications set, is connected to the correct port, and in a ready state to receive the data. If the Port Communications setting for the data recorder is set to FILE, pressing the OK button will first display the Save As dialog used to name the file to be created. |
