(This functionality is available with the Modelling
module)
Interpolates the elevation of an existing point or points from the model, and stores the elevation against the point in the data base.
The Interpolate Elevation dialog box is used to select the point(s) for which elevation(s) are to be interpolated from the currently selected model.
Interpolate Elevation dialog box
Item | Used to |
Model Name: | Display the number of the currently displayed model from which elevations
may be interpolated. Models may be created for any particular data base using the Modelling/Form Model command. Any previously created model may be displayed using the Display Features command. |
Block is active: |
Indicate whether there is a block currently active. This message is only displayed if a block is currently active. Refer to the Block command for information on creating and using blocks. |
Single Point Mode | Indicate that a block is not currently active. This message is only displayed if a block is not currently active. |
Non contourable | Allow selection of non contourable points (points with a non contourable
attribute) for elevation interpolation. If active, then non contourable points defined by an active block or selected via the point identifier field or mouse may have their elevations interpolated. The With elevation and/or the Without elevation check boxes must also be active for non contourable points to be selected. If not active, then non contourable points will not be selected for elevation interpolation. |
Without elev. | Select non contourable points without elevations for elevation interpolation. If active, then non contourable points without elevations defined by an active block or selected via the point identifier field or mouse, may have elevations interpolated. The Non contourable check box must also be active. If not active, then non contourable points without elevations will not be selected for elevation interpolation. |
With elev. | Select non contourable points with elevations for elevation interpolation. If active, then non contourable points which already have elevations, and are defined by an active block or selected via the point identifier field or mouse, may have new elevations interpolated. The Non contourable check box must also be active. If not active, then non contourable points with elevations will not be selected for elevation interpolation. |
Contourable | Allow selection of Contourable points (points with a contourable
attribute) for elevation interpolation. If active, then contourable points defined by an active block or selected via the point identifier field or mouse may have their elevations interpolated. If not active, then contourable points will not be selected for elevation interpolation. |
Point ID. : | Key in the identifier of the point for which an elevation is to
be interpolated, or to display the identifier of a point selected for
elevation interpolation with the mouse. Alternatively a point range
can be entered. If a block is active the Point Identifier field is disabled and cannot accessed. Only points which match the active selections made in the check boxes may be selected. |
Elevation: | Display the interpolated elevation of a selected point. If a block is active the Elevation field is disabled. |
OK | Interpolate elevations for the selected point(s). In single point mode, you may interpolate individual point elevations by clicking in the Point Identifier field, keying in the required point identifier, and selecting the OK button. Alternatively, use the mouse in the graphics window to snap to and accept the required point. If a block is active, selecting the OK button will interpolate elevations for points defined by that block. Elevations will only be interpolated for those points which match the selections made in the check boxes. For example, if only the Non contourable and Without elevation check boxes are active, then elevations will only be interpolated for non contourable points which did not previously have an elevation. |
Cancel | Close the dialog box. |
Notes | The data base must have previously been triangulated using the
Modelling/Form Model command before
this command may be accessed. The interpolated elevations are computed from the appropriate triangle in the currently selected model. The points selected must lie within a model triangle. The command will not work for points that are outside the limits of the model. |
