Export SEGP1

(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)

Exports data in SEGP1 format.

Refer also to the Export dialog box topic.

Before exporting a SEGP1 file, you should first ensure that you carry out the following:

  1. Use the Utilities/Configure/Units command to set the units to those required in the SEGP1 file.

    • Linear Units:
The linear co-ordinates and elevations in the SEGP1 file will be exported as feet, metres etc. according to the Linear setting in Configure/Units.
    • Angular Units:
Latitudes and Longitudes are exported as Degrees, Minutes and Seconds (DDD.MMSS), unless the Angular setting in Configure/Units is set to Gons. If Gons is set, then the Latitudes and Longitudes will be exported as Gons to the precision of 5 decimal places.
    • Co-ordinate Units:
If the database is a plane grid, only linear co-ordinates can be exported to the SEGP1 file, as latitude and longitude are meaningless in a plane.
If the database is a projection, then the Latitude and Longitude are also exported to the SEGP1 file.
  2. Use the Utilities/Configure/Co-ordinates command to set the required precision for linear and geographic co-ordinates. The system will output the co-ordinates and elevations to the precisions set. To fit the restricted size of the SEGP1 column widths, the values will be truncated if necessary.

Note:

Line names:
Line names are created from a combination of the line code and the unique line number.
Points which are not part of a line are output without a line name.

Shotpoint Number:
The Point Identifier is exported as the Shotpoint Number. Alternatively, numeric point numbers will be generated if AutoNum is checked.
