(This functionality is available with the Input / Output module)
Exports data to Leica Geo Office.
Refer also to the Export dialog box topic.
Existing Leica Geo Office Project names (found in the Leica database) are displayed in the Projects list box with their location on your system. Select the project you wish to export to or type in a new project in the Project name field and a new project of that name will be created in the Leica database. If you have selected an existing project, the line at the bottom of the dialog indicates whether the selected Project is on a projection. If it is, the name of the project is displayed. If you are creating a new project, it will not have a projection associated with it.
The Leica Geo Office Project's points Code Group corresponds to LISCAD's
points Group.
The Leica Geo Office Project's points Code corresponds to LISCAD's points Code.
If the LISCAD project is not on a projection, i.e. on a Plane, the points will be exported from LISCAD directly into Leica Geo Office as Local Grid co-ordinates.
If the LISCAD project is based on the WGS84 ellipsoid (i.e. it has geographic co-ordinates based on the WGS84 ellipsoid) the points will be exported from LISCAD directly into Leica Geo Office as WGS84 Geodetic co-ordinates.
If the LISCAD project is not based on the WGS84 ellipsoid, a transformation can be selected by the user to transform the project to a WGS84 ellipsoid based project if one exists. All transformations currently in the LISCAD database which transform from the current LISCAD projection to a WGS84 based projection are displayed in the Transformation drop down box. Select the desired transformation and press the OK button. The points will be exported from LISCAD into the Leica Geo Office project after they have been transformed as WGS84 Geodetic co-ordinates. Alternatively, if the user does not want to perform a transformation of the points into Leica Geo Office as WGS Geodetic co-ordinates, selecting None in the Transformation drop down box will ensure the points exported into Leica Geo Office will be Local Grid co-ordinates.
NOTE: Avoid having Leica Geo Office active at the same time that LISCAD is attempting an export as both applications are unable to access the Leica database at the same time. If the situation occurs where the Leica message appears stating "Another application is using the Leica database. Please terminate that application!" follow this procedure:
- Do NOT click the OK button on the Leica message box.
- Maximise the Leica Geo Office application and close it down.
- Maximise LISCAD again. If the Leica message box appears in front of the maximised LISCAD application, click the OK button on it now and proceed with the export.
- If the Leica message box does not appear in front of the maximised LISCAD application, right click on the minimised message box and click close. This should enable you to proceed with the export. If the export still does not work, shut down LISCAD and start again without Leica Geo Office activated at the same time.
