(This functionality is available with the Computations
module)
Scales objects in relation to a specified origin by a nominated scale factor.
The Edit/Scale command is selected from the Computations task.
Scale by Scale Factor dialog box
Item | Used to |
Point Range | Key in the point identifier or point identifier range of the points
to be scaled. For a range of points, key in two point identifiers separated by two dots. |
Ref Point | Key in the point identifier which defines the origin to which the
points will be scaled. Alternatively, snap to and accept an existing point to have its identifier placed in this field. |
Scale Factor | Key in the scale factor by which the distances from the origin to the selected points will be multiplied. |
Scale | Scales the selected point range by the scale factor in relation
to the origin point. In single object mode, the point(s) shown in the point range field will be scaled. In block mode, only the points shown in the point range field and also defined by the block will be scaled. If the point range field is empty, then all points defined by the block will be scaled. |
Close | Close the dialog box. |
Note: Any line objects or polygons that are associated with the selected point(s) will be automatically amended to reflect the scaling of those points.
If the points defined to be scaled are part of a spiral, arc or circle object, the object will be re created if the geometry of the points that defined the object is still valid, otherwise the object will be destroyed. For example, you cannot move an arc end point and keep the arc, unless the move maintains the radius.
Symbols will have their dimensions scaled if they are dimensioned in ground units.
Text objects will be scaled only if they are selected by a block. The size of scaled text will be changed accordingly if the text is dimensioned in ground units.
