Segment Lines

(This functionality is available with the Computations module)

Breaks line strings into individual two point lines and arcs, containing points on the arc, into individual arc objects.

This dialog box is displayed after selecting the Edit/Segment Line command from the Computations task.

Item	Used to
Single Object Mode / Block Mode	Displays whether the function is operating in single object or Block mode.
Line No.:	If the function is operating in single object mode, key in the line number or range of line numbers that you want to segment. Alternatively snap to and accept the line or arc that you want to segment. If the function is operating in Block mode this field will be disabled and all lines that satisfy the Block will be segmented.
OK	Segment the selected line(s) or arc(s). For straight lines the line will be broken at every point in the line, so for a line consisting of n points, n-1 lines will result. For arcs containing n points on the arc between the tangent points n+1 arcs will result.
Close	Close the dialog box.
