(This functionality is available with the Computations
module)
Creates Horizontal Intersection points for an alignment that contains spirals or arcs.
The Create/Intersection Points command is selected from the Computations Task.
Create Intersection Points dialog box
Item | Used to |
Alignment | Select the alignment for which intersection points are to be created. |
Start Chainage or Start Distance | Select the position along the alignment beyond which the IP's will
be created. The name of this field is dependant on what has been set as the Data Input By type in the Configure/Alignment dialog. |
New Intersection Point ID | Key in the point identifier to be assigned to the first new intersection point created in the process. Other new intersection points will get the next available identifier. |
Automatic | Specify that IP's will be created automatically through to the end of the alignment without unnecessary intervention from the user. |
or | |
Manual | Specify that the creation process will stop for user input at each IP. The user will then be able to control each new intersection point identifier, skip an IP creation if desired, or end the creation process before the end of the alignment is reached. |
Combine Curves | Specify that a single IP will be created for each combined curve.
Otherwise IP's will be created for every arc and spiral. Note that a combined curve is a set of contiguous tangential arcs and/or spirals. |
Create Splays | Specify that splay objects be created at the IP's. |
Next | Update the point identifier field to the next available unused point identifier greater than the point identifier currently shown. |
Last | Update the point identifier field to one greater than the highest point identifier in the data base. |
Compute | Compute the Intersection Points. If a curve already has an IP, another will not be computed. If a point which is not an IP is found at the IP position, you get the opportunity to adopt that point as the IP. |
Skip | Skip the creation of an IP. Only available in Manual mode. |
Adopt | Adopt an existing point which has been found at the IP position as the IP point instead of creating a new point. |
Create | Create the IP if the system halts for user input. |
Stop | Stop the IP creation process if the system halts for user input. |
