Examines the 3D offset of a point with regard to a 3D Plane.
Examine 3D Offset by 3D Plane dialog box
Item | Used to |
Ref. Pts: | To define a plane, select a 3D line and a 3D reference point, or select three 3D reference points. Note that the order of the points' selection defines the direction of the plane as clockwise or anticlockwise when viewed from the offset point. |
Offset Point: | Select the 3D offset point. |
Examine | Display the 3D offset to the plane.
The offset will be shown as positive if the direction of the plane is anticlockwise, or
negative if the direction is clockwise, when viewed from the offset point.
This follows the "right hand rule", whereby if the fingers of the
right hand curl in the direction of the plane creation, and the thumb points to the offset point side of the plane, the offset is considered positive. |
