To Place an Image.
- Select either Place/Image or the Image button from the toolbar.
- The Open Image Dialog now appears. Select the image file you wish to place. On pressing Open, the image is selected, the dialog closes and the image is displayed as a negative image with the place image cursor at its centre.
- Move the cursor to where you want place the image and Accept.
Tips:
- Snap to an existing object if you wish to attach the centre of the image to this object before you Accept.
- During placement, the operation can be cancelled by pressing Esc.
Notes:
- The image initial size is determined by the current plot scale, the actual size of the image and the horizontal and vertical resolutions of the image (DPI : Dots Per Inch). If the image does not contain a resolution, a default resolution of 96 DPI is set.
- Images are stored internally in the project in their 'raw' format and must have a unique title. For example, the image in the file "C:\Pictures\Autumn.jpg", has the title "Autumn"
- If you attempt to place an image of the same title as one that already exists in the project, you are given the option of replacing all occurrences of the existing image with the new one or retaining the existing image.
