Modify Standard Deviations

(This functionality is available with the Adjustment module)

Modifies the apriori standard deviations initially computed when the data is extracted, entered via the keyboard or imported from an XML file

The function permits you to enter centering and target errors thereby reflecting the relative weights of each observation. This may have significant effect if there are angular measurements over a large differing range of distances.

Any observation you wish to alter must be selected prior to invoking this function.

Item Used to
Centering Error Enter the centering error. This must be in the range 0.0 to 1.0m.
Target Error Enter the target error. This must be in the range 0.0 to 1.0m.
Selected Angular Modify Check if you wish to modify the standard deviation of any angular measurement selected.
Select either:
'Use original instrument settings' ignoring the current apriori values; or 'Modify existing settings' to change the existing settings, using the entered centering values.
Selected Distance Modify Check if you wish to modify the standard deviation of any distance measurement selected.
Select either:
'Use original instrument settings' ignoring the current apriori values; or
'Modify existing settings' to change the existing settings, using the entered centering values.
OK Modifies the standard deviations of the observations selected and closes the dialog box.
Cancel Close the dialog box without performing any changes.
